'Teacher Education for Sustainable Development: An invitation to Dialogue' - hosted by the National College of Art and Design, 100 Thomas St, Dublin 2 in their School of Design for Industry buidling

The purpose of Dialogue Days is to provide an opportunity for teacher educators to explore practical ways of developing student teachers’ knowledge, skills and attitudes of issues relating to local and global equality, justice and sustainability

KEYNOTE SPEAKER Professor Daniella Tilbury

TITLE Learning to Change: Are we up to the challenge?

Daniela Tilbury is Director of Sustainability at the University of Gloucestershire, which was ranked No.1 in the People and Planet Sustainability League of Universities. She also is Chair of the UNESCO Global Monitoring and Evaluation Expert Group (MEEG) for the UN Decade in Education for Sustainable Development, and was formerly the Director of Australian Research Institute in Education for Sustainability (ARIES) based at Macquarie University, Sydney. She is the author of Engaging People in Sustainability with David Wortman, (IUCN Commission on Education and Communication, 2004); Shifting Towards Sustainability: Six Insights Into Successful Organisation Change for Sustainability, with Sally Ann Hunting (Australian Research Institute in Education for Sustainability, 2006); and Whole-school Approaches to Sustainability: A Review of Models for Professional Development in Pre-service Teacher Education with Jo-Anne Ferreira, Lisa Ryan, and Elizabeth Ryan(Australian Research Institute in Education for Sustainability, 2006) amongst many others.

An exhibition of Development Education and Education for Sustainable Development artwork by NCAD students includes the UN Declaration of Human Rights art competition entries by 3 yr Visual Communication students, images from the Ubuntu project , and exemplars of lesson plans on the Ubuntu themes of similarity and difference, and environmental sustainability

With NGO stalls by Camara, Irish Aid, Amnesty Ireland, CDVEC CDU and Trócaire

In 2008, 2 Dialogue Days were held, in Limerick and in Dublin. The e-book on these days is available from the Ubuntu Network as are copies of the 23 action research project posters displyed on both Days.
