Publications to engage initial teacher educators and teachers in exploring a range of Development Education themes.
Teaching Global Perspectives Introducing Student Teachers to Development Education is edited by Tamzin J. Batteson and Roland Tormey. Development Education represents a new vision of education that empowers the learner to assume responsibility for creating a just and sustainable world.
This publication draws from the diverse range of action research projects that have been undertaken by Teacher Educators involved in the Ubuntu Network during the period from May 2008 – 2010. Furthermore, it provides an account of Teacher Educators’ endeavours to integrate Development Education into their teaching and professional practice. Contributions represent both the concurrent and consecutive models of teacher education, and will relate to specific subject content, subject pedagogies (methodologies) and foundational education disciplines.
